- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Gravy:
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth

- 5. Sprinkle flour into the pan with onions and stir constantly for about two minutes until golden brown.
- 6. Gradually whisk in beef broth while stirring to keep the mixture smooth.
- Combine:
- 7. Return patties to the skillet with gravy and simmer on low heat for another ten minutes until cooked through.
- Serve:
- 8. Plate the hamburger steaks and generously drizzle with gravy. Pair with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
