Instructions
For the Grits:
- 1. In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil.
- 2. Slowly whisk in stone-ground grits; reduce heat to low.
- 3. Stir frequently until thickened, about 20-25 minutes.
- 4. Stir in heavy cream and butter; season with salt and pepper.
For the Shrimp:
- 1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
- 2. Add minced garlic; sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
- 3. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about three minutes.
- 4. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices as desired.
- To Serve:
- 1. Spoon creamy grits into bowls or plates.
- 2. Top with sautéed shrimp and remaining sauce from the skillet.
- 3. Garnish with chopped scallions or parsley before serving.
